Remember these Terms
- OSPF: Link-state routing protocol for IP networks.
- Router ID (RID): Unique 32-bit identifier for a router.
- Hello packet: Discovers neighbors and maintains relationships.
- Adjacency: Full neighbor relationship used to exchange LSAs.
- LSA: Link-State Advertisement describing network topology.
- LSDB: Database of LSAs shared within an area.
- Area: Logical group of routers; Area 0 is backbone.
- DR/BDR: Elected on multiaccess networks to reduce updates.
- Cost: OSPF metric; lower cost is preferred.
- SPF: Dijkstra algorithm computing shortest paths from LSDB.
